Botox® and Dysport® are two different brands of very similar products. They differ slightly in their chemical makeup, and Dysport® contains a protein found in cow's milk, so those who are intolerant to lactose should avoid Dysport®. Botox® temporarily paralyzes muscles therefore, it prevents the formation or increase of dynamic wrinkles such as smile lines, and frown wrinkles - indirectly, it helps smooth lines. While dermal fillers, on the other hand, are substances injected into the skin to restore volume that improves and corrects the appearance of wrinkles. Put simply; they are wrinkle fillers- they replace lost volume, and they work on lines, static wrinkles and dynamic wrinkles. The treatment plan is different; they can be used in combination or independently.

Botulinum toxin temporarily decreases the activity of the muscles located near the injection site.
